The Interior Design Society of Kenya (IDSK) is the association representing Kenya’s interior design industry in its entirety — from practising designers and design firms to suppliers, manufacturers, educators, and built environment partners. We set standards, develop the sector, and connect everyone in it.
Building Designers, Businesses, and a Stronger Industry
The Interior Design Society of Kenya (IDSK) is the country’s sole industry association for interior design. Founded to organise and represent the sector in its entirety, IDSK brings together interior designers, design firms, architects, project managers, suppliers, manufacturers, educators, and students under a shared commitment to raising industry standards and expanding the economic contribution of interior design in Kenya.
IDSK is not simply a membership organization. It is the central institution of a sector that now has a single, authoritative home. We organize what was previously fragmented, create structure where there was none, and advocate for a profession that has long punched above its weight without the institutional backing it deserves.
Interior design shapes how Kenyans live, work, learn, and do business. It drives decisions in real estate, hospitality, retail, and the public sector. IDSK exists because the industry that delivers all of that deserves an association that speaks for it, develops it, and holds it to a consistent standard of excellence.
Interior design shapes how we live, work, and connect. At IDSK, we are building a united industry where creativity meets opportunity.
We close the professional skills gap and enhance firm competitiveness through accredited training, business mentorship, and capacity-building programs that prepare Kenyan design MSMEs for growth and investment.
We integrate the design ecosystem by fostering strategic linkages between designers, suppliers, manufacturers, and financiers. This strengthens local supply chains, reduces costs, and unlocks new market opportunities for members.
We establish the profession’s credibility by advocating for inclusive policies, administering a professional accreditation system, and promoting ethical and sustainable practice standards. This builds client trust and market certainty.
We champion Kenyan design talent by curating platforms, exhibitions, and digital channels that connect our members to domestic and international clients, projects, and collaborations, directly driving their business growth.
The Interior Design Society of Kenya (IDSK) is Kenya's sole industry association for interior design. We represent the sector in its entirety — interior designers, design firms, suppliers, manufacturers, educators, students, and industry partners — and we work to raise standards, develop industry capacity, and give interior design in Kenya the institutional standing it deserves.
To build a vibrant, recognized, and economically empowered interior design industry that transforms spaces and communities across Kenya.
To empower interior design professionals and partners through education, advocacy, and collaboration — fostering innovation and excellence in every space we shape.
