Interior Design Summit Kenya 2026: Building the Platform Kenya’s Interior Design Industry Has Been Waiting For

Kenya’s interior design industry has experienced remarkable growth over the past decade. From residential developments and commercial offices to hospitality, healthcare, education and retail spaces, interior design has become an essential component of the country’s built environment. Yet despite this growth, the profession has lacked a dedicated national platform where practitioners, suppliers, educators, manufacturers and industry leaders can come together to learn, collaborate and shape the future of the sector.

The Interior Design Summit Kenya 2026, organised by the Interior Design Society of Kenya (IDSK), has been established to fill that gap.

Taking place from 26th to 29th August 2026 at the Sarit Expo Centre, Nairobi, the inaugural Summit will bring together professionals from across the interior design value chain for four days of knowledge exchange, professional development, networking and business engagement. The event will be held alongside the Homes & Gardens Expo, creating additional opportunities for delegates to interact with leading brands, products and innovations serving the built environment.

More Than a Conference

Interior Design Summit Kenya has been conceived as more than a traditional conference. It is the beginning of a long-term industry platform designed to strengthen the profession, create business opportunities and encourage collaboration across the design ecosystem.

The 2026 edition will feature:

  • A professional conference with keynote presentations and panel discussions
  • Three days of practical workshops and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Industry networking sessions
  • Exhibition opportunities for suppliers and manufacturers
  • Product demonstrations and technical presentations
  • Strategic partnerships between designers, developers and solution providers

The Summit is intended to become the annual meeting point for everyone involved in shaping interior spaces across Kenya.

Advancing Professional Excellence

As Kenya’s professional association for the interior design industry, IDSK is committed to raising standards, promoting ethical practice and supporting continuous learning. Professional development is one of the Society’s core strategic pillars, alongside industry networking, advocacy and creating greater visibility for designers and businesses.

The Summit directly supports this mission by providing a structured environment where professionals can gain new knowledge, explore emerging trends, strengthen technical skills and build meaningful industry relationships.

For students and emerging designers, the event also offers valuable opportunities to engage with experienced practitioners, educators and potential employers.

Creating Business Opportunities

Interior design is a collaborative profession that depends on strong relationships between designers, manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, developers and clients.

Recognising this, the Summit has been designed as a business platform as much as an educational one. Companies will have opportunities to exhibit products, launch new solutions, demonstrate technologies and connect directly with professionals responsible for specifying materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, kitchens, flooring and other interior products.

Sponsors and exhibitors will benefit from targeted engagement with a highly relevant professional audience while supporting the continued growth of Kenya’s interior design industry.

Looking Beyond 2026

The 2026 edition marks the beginning of what IDSK envisions as Kenya’s flagship annual interior design event.

Future editions will continue to expand in scale and scope, bringing together more local and international speakers, exhibitors, educational institutions, manufacturers, developers and policymakers to strengthen Kenya’s position as a regional hub for design excellence.

By creating a consistent platform for learning, collaboration and innovation, the Interior Design Summit Kenya aims to contribute to a more connected, more competitive and more professional interior design industry.
