Mastering Value: IDSK Roundtable Charts the Path for Design Business Success

The Interior Design Society of Kenya (IDSK) hosted an exclusive industry roundtable on Saturday, 13th December 2025, providing a focused forum for designers and architects to strategize on the core pillars of a thriving practice under the theme “Mastering Value.”

A Venue that Inspired Dialogue: Fusion Palate

The event was held at Fusion Palate in Karen, a venue whose very concept echoed the day’s theme of integration and innovation. Known for its unique culinary dialogue between the rich traditions of Italy, China, and India, Fusion Palate provided an apt setting for professionals to explore blending different perspectives. Their mission to create harmony from distinct flavors paralleled the design community’s goal of synthesizing aesthetics, function, and business acumen.

Three Pillars for Business Growth

The roundtable discussion was expertly structured around three interconnected subtopics:

  1. Positioning: Defining your unique space in the market.
  2. Value: Articulating and commanding your true worth.
  3. Partnerships: Building a strategic network to deliver quality.

Attendees explored how a clear Positioning enables professionals to charge for their true Value, which is consistently amplified through strategic Partnerships.

Spotlight on Strategic Partnerships

The theme of partnerships resonated strongly, highlighting the need for a curated network. In this spirit, IDSK was proud to have the event supported by Ruby Interiors, a premier supplier known for quality wall coverings and window treatments.

A partner like Ruby Interiors exemplifies the strategic collaboration discussed, offering designers reliable execution, quality assurance, and time savings—key components in delivering value to the end-client. They can be contacted at +254 791 333 689 | +254 797 982 789 or info@rubyinteriors.co.ke.

The roundtable concluded with a clear takeaway: sustainable success is built on a clear professional identity, confident communication of worth, and a network of strong partnerships. The IDSK continues to foster this growth through its vibrant community.

The IDSK extends gratitude to Fusion Palate for hosting and to Ruby Interiors Ltd. for their support.
